The platform is the same and they both are Altimas in the same generation with the same motor configs and basically share everything aftermarket except cosmetic stuff.
ha!

our transmission and the se-r specv transmission has a basic direct match, the only part tht is diff and "sticks out" a tiny tiny bit in the blue print is the lil more gusto part -aka- dual so both wheels get the direct downforce off the line
hes been chattin about this forever- that or the murano AWD platform, but he didnt want to cut his car in half to support the fat a$$ to fit the rwd portion lol
im assuming hes doin it/has done it and/or its in the shop gettin done. all I remember as far as anything else is tht he wanted to get a used spec v transmision cus he figured it'd be mad cheap.

I think you guys missed it, but I got this all done last week. it was an epic undertaking!
we had to remove the the front subframe, the starter motor, the y-pipe, the intake, and finally the transsmission. we oppened it up and the basicly it was a direct fit. DIRECT FIT BOLTON FTW!
here's the thread:
http://forums.altimas.org/zero...coupe
it's been moved to the engine section so maybe that's why some of you guys didn't saw it.
here's the important parts:
Cracked case open FTW!
thats the stock open diff
upside down
removed the bearing using an awesome puller
removed the bearing on the other side and started to unscrew final gear
final gear is off
stock on the left and HLSD on the right
bolted final gear on HLSD FTMFW!!!
putting back the bearings on the HLSD
Using the press to squish it back on the HLSD
Tada! EPIC PLUG AND PLAY !
for more detail you can go check out the other thread. I'll post a tutorial later, I haven't gotten the time do to it yet.
and and btw, I think it's doable on cvt too.http://www.automaticchoice.com...a.pdf
On first page of this pdf, section D, the differential looks exactly the same as the open diff on my 6MT. I suggest buying a scraped cvt transmission and opening it up to verify. Could potentially work! but I wonder how the cvt transmission will react to this. It shouldn't change a thing as the differential is at the receiving end of the CVT.
