Hey guys what do you think is a better idea... i could go and buy some nice coilovers but every place that sells em in canada are pretty high in price, same with buying from the USA cause of customs and the crazy high shipping price, which im used to so w/e. but i could buy a sr20det from a town thats only 3 hours away for 1.8k, which do you think is a better plan? get new coilovers lower my car improve handling or buy a sr20 for 600 dollars more and have a brand new engine? i know it seems pretty simple but just wondering what you guys think cause im on stock suspension. got a turbo ready exhaust tho :p

Are you prepared to start the swap? Suspension is easy to install and adjust you could do it in a few hours. If you get the SR then you will probably want to do a mild rebuild and assuming you have everything you need for start up (and you hit no snags) your car could be down for a day or two. Is it your DD? I would say get the suspension dial it in then save for a swap.

2 things to start.

1. An SR20DET for 18k is a good deal, as long as you are getting complete swap.

2. An SR20det for 18k is not "brand new" it is however, used. Therefore, I would find out the mileage, etc...

This is really a decision you need to make for yourself, deciding whether you want the car to handle better with factory power, or handle the same with more power. I personally would get the coilovers first, then buy any other suspension components, that might need to be replaced, such as, most likely every rubber bushing in the suspension. After which the car will ride like brand new. Then save up and swap the SR.

yeah that was what i was thinking... just get my suspension all good before i try to get any more power. cause i know if i got a new engine there would a time in the night where i wanted to be like pro race car driver and completely fly off a mountain or something cause i would be going to fast.. but i msged the shop who sells/swaps the egnine asking how much it would cost and if its a decent price i might go for that since my car is probably going to be out of commision all of next winter since my new college has no parking.
