I just tapped a deer in my car so I am now putting my megasquirt in. I figure, the nissan ecu does a really good job of picking timing and I could even incresase timing resolution if I took some other data off the bin file for my ecu. So, I am wirig my ms2 in piggyback style. I will be able to keep the COP setup, have 4 injector drivers, and still have ienough i/o to have other goodies attached. I will run EBC, wideband control, and a homebrewed launch control setup on mine and I will also be converting my harness for use with OBD plug so I can read data off from another datalogger. Should be fun and interesting. I never wanted to use edis because of the factory coil it has and the whole thing of the tooth wheel. I messed up 300 bucks worth of cas's for ca18 and rb20 trying to make a mini 36-1 wheel for the cas to read. That should have worked but I think maybe some of my sensors were bad before I tried to mod them. There is a 24 tooth wheel you can get from Jim Wolf I believe that will work in our cas (only the cas's with a mitsu symbol, not the hitachi) and if you set it up right, that would almost get the most timing resolution possible with megasquirt. You have set it up to read about half of the incoming signals or use a decoder program, but basically you would tell the ecu it is reading a 48 tooth wheel on the crank.
