yeah the easiest way is to get to them is to get under the car with jack stands of course!! could you let us know how the shifter is after you install it? does it rattle or anything like that? I am thinking of getting one of the megan v2 and getting rid of mty B&m shifter because of the bad rattles.

Mine rattled too. UNTIL I took off the top ring around the shifter. You will see two spring holding the shift lever down. I put a couple of washer on the springs so when I put the top ring back on it compressed the spring more. No more rattle!!!!!! Oh yeah, its a megan.

SO! today i got my megan short shifter v2 installed!! woo!!basics needs to this install was

the shifter12mm wrench and socket wrenchpair of gloves

ok the key to the v2 is taking out all 6 bolts that the shifter assembly is in

the best way to remove the ones in back is by use of a 12mm wrench, and to double team the bolts from the top and the bottom, it is best to do it with the car jacked up pretty high

after all the bolts are loose you should be able to pull it off pretty easily

the install is pretty self explanatory from here on out, just reverse the order.once installed it should look like this

cap it all back up and you should be set

I was completly amazed at the throw reduction and everything is so solid now.NO RATTLE and no popping of the gears so i was really pleased. i recommend this to the max. i bought it from eMpowermotors.com for 95$if i missed anything or if you have any Q's, plz ask

no rattle at all? or gear whine? does the shifter have any play in it at all when it is in gear? $95 is not bad at all for a good shifter I got my b&m for $75 and to tell you the truth I dont think its even worth that.I mean it works good and everything its just the constant rattle that will drive you nuts after a while. is this megan shifter the one that you can adjust the height of the shifter also? thanks for the update.

I know I am bringing a dead thread back, but to try and add a little something I found that helps with shifter install. That little plastic "brace" that is under the DIN pocket. Trim the carpet back a little bit (I just cut some slits in it and folded it back). Take a hole saw that is just big enough for a 12mm socket. Drill two holes above the two rear bolts. When you are done, the carpet covers the holes.

def a good idea, but you might want to source come sort of plug for the hole, i can just see random puddle shooting up through those holes

well, i took my entire trans out and test fitted the megan V2, my problem was that the bolt holse did not line up the corners and the left side did but not the right side so any know of a good fix for that?
