Has anyone used the Megan racing traction bars on the 240sx? If so how did they work?

i had them. dont like them at all. they creak, squeek, and make tons of noise. bent one at DD17 last summer and finally got peak performance ones. If your going to do suspension. do it right the first time. trust me.

i dont understand your need for them tho? they are one of the last pieces of suspension you should need. RUCAS, and tension rods should be first. then toe rods, finally traction rods(upper links)

cuz i thought you are goin for a drag car? these wont help you

subframe spacers will do you more good.

I think that you think that i think I dont know what im talking about!!!!

Simple question again. Thanks to all that answered with helpful information.

Im simply replacing everything on my suspention, From the sway bars to the Frame bushings. EVERYTHING, And I wanna know the best pieces of equipment to replace them with. Im not doing it twice, I only do things right the first time, and save money in the long run.

I have some pretty massive wheelhop while trying to drag race at the track, so violent that i feel if I dont let off, I'll break something..

I have AGX's/whiteline springs, RUCA's, SPL subframe bushings. I figured the traction rods would be the next course of action, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Unless something is name brand i wouldnt buy it off ebay unless its a non moving part, like an exhaust system or intercooler. which have been proven to work

your next step in suspension to shop that wheel hop should be a nice set of coilovers. That strut spring combo isnt helpin ya out very much

Dude! I'm in the exact same boat as you except I have coilovers and still get wheel hop. I'm thinking some of the problem is from running all-season tires on stock wheels while trying to put about 250whp to the ground. Advice will be much appreciated!

Your wheel hop is prob from your tires. If your trying to run street tires on the track it wont work. The surface is not the same as the street. Try some ET street slicks.

I dont have any problems with wheel hop. Actually I dont even spin, but that could be that im running 11.5 Mickey thompson Street ET Slicks, and a posi track rear end, I have tein lowering springs, soon to be Megan racing coilovers.

Your wheel hop with the coilover setup might be you have the rear setup to stiff, For good traction its gotta be Soft, way soft!!!

Are you guys running the LSD rear end?

if your on coils id definitely soften up the rears alot and stiffen up the fronts. Should help a bit. Also ditch those all season tires now!!! those are not helpin you at all. at least get some performance street tires. dont have to be radials

the softer the rear of your car the better for traction. SO when you launch hard (like you should be) all the weight transfers to the rear of the car and gives you more traction at the rear wheels. STiff front suspension will keep the car from bouncing when you shift

I know that but you are not able to adjust the suspention stock. With a good set of coilovers you can make the rear soft and the front hard. Stock there both going to be soft.

if you were to run coils in the front and stock rear shocks is waht Carl is talkin about. Works for someone on a budget. even running a aftermarket front strut/spring combo with stock rear suspesion would work.

personally id go coils

because most coilovers are stiffer springs in the rear

who cares if u can adjust the struts, thats not gonna really help, you need the spring rates lower because thats what lets the car squat down

going coilovers will not give you better traction for drag racing!!!

also check the rest of your drivetrain, mounts... Engine mounts, transmission mounts, diff mounts......... STRUT mounts in rear

u say SPL bushings for the rear subframe, are they collars or the ones that are solid metal?

Well I had my tein lowering springs with Stock new struts on when I took the car to the track this summer. Car launched like a champ never one slung me sideways nor spun, With the 8 inch wide slicks I was having traction issues around half track but not on the starting line. Rear end felt good. But the front end seemed a little jumpy/Bouncy threw 1st/2nd/3rd gear. 4th was ok. So I def gotta stiffen up the front end. I have bought a set of Megan racing coilovers im going to try. Stiff in the front/soft in the rear, along with frame bushings, prob going aluminum, sway bar, RUCAS, and possibly traction rods, Im goint to adjust my camber out too! So if I dont like that setup ill put my rear tein lowering springs on and keep the front coilovers and see if I like that setup. Which ever the car handles better going down the track and it launches better with is how I will keep it. But im keeping my options open.
