Came across these while surfing the net at work this morning... My buddy is a distributor for Megan Racing so I can probably get em at cost plus some... it looks like the majority on here have lowered their Versa's with Tanabe...

I'll see if I can "test" these out and see how they handle...

Opinions?? Comments?? Questions??

Glad to see someone searching around. Good job.

But I have not heard or used these myself. Hopefully someone here can give you some information.

As a general rule of thumb, the lower the drop, the more ride quality suffers. There are plenty of members here who have the Megan springs and nearly all of them say it's rough while nearly everyone with the Tanabe say the ride is close to stock and "more controlled."

If you'd of searched a little longer, you would have found a thread entitled "megan racing anyone?"Fairly recent where I asked the same question. Codelicious has them as of a few months ago. There are pics and some discussion in that thread. However, code man...a little update on the quality as of today would be great.

I would recommend the Tanabe springs. They're comfortable and almost feel close to stock ride, plus they're manufactured in Japan. When lowered, it gets rid of most of the gap and looks much better. Not sure where Megan springs were manufactured. I'm not sure how the Megan springs differ from the Tanabe's, I heard they lower the ride more but not sure how the quality is.

The spring rates on the Megans are higher than the Tanabes. The higher the spring rate, the more rough the ride is. Shorter springs have to be made stiffer so they don't bottom out.

I got my Megan Racing springs basically because they drop your car the lowest and because they were Orange (matches everything about my car). I haven't had any issues with them so far and I have had them for quite some time.

I don't really have to worry about bottoming out unless I go over something that is ridiculous. The ride isn't bad at all, but I do go pretty slow over bumps.

I plan on getting some new Struts but I'm not sure when that will happen because I want to get some nice ones. :D
