I was wondering if i were to purchase a megan racing muffler would i be able to place it onto the stock exhaust piping and still get the deep aftermarket sound or would i need to purchase the entire exhaust system?

Umm I dont think it would sound too good. I have an aftermarket muffler on my S13 with stock piping (bought it that way) and its just louder, def not the tone you are looking for. I don't see why you wouldn't just get the entire system. Stock piping would still mean restricted flow anyway and the whole point is for some decent power gain/ nice tone. So i'd say get the entire system.

my friend has the full system on his s14 and its a real nice tone, with a tasteful level of loudness.

i have a megan cat back on my s13 and it sounds pretty good.

If i had to buy it all over agian i would prolly just hit the local muffler shop and have em bend me up a set up with a good flomaster muffler insted of the megan but i cant really complain

I have the 2.5" Cat back on my s13, it sounds great. There is no buzzing at high RPMs. I'll get a video for you and you can tell me what you think.

I had an Apexi N1 muffler on 2.5" custom piping and it sounded just as good as my current full Apexi N1 catback exhaust. I give credit to the shop that custom did my custom exhaust though.

Have no idea what you mean? But if its a CATBACK exhaust its the whole piping from the cat back. Yes FRP is a catback exhaust.

Is it everything? Depends on what were you looking for?

Today I took off a 2 1/4" straight pipe to can that was hella loud.

Put on a full 2 1/2" resonated system and there is more low end power and its way quieter with a nice tone.

are you dead set on megan racing? there are other exhausts you can look into if price plays a major role, like the Isis single gt exhaust from enjukuracing.com.

Why would you put a Flowmaster on a 240? They belong on V8's.

That's like asking "why would you put Magnaflow on a 240?" Oh wait, BRM, and it sounds amazing.

Flowmaster and Magnaflow are complete different things.

Magnaflow is a flow through muffler unlike the Flowmaster.
