I just put in the megan racing cat back and now I have some serious banging. I have isolated it to the the metal piece that holds the rubber mount just behind the mid pipe. When the exhaust shifts side to side it bangs against this piece. I have it jurry rigged right now but I need a permanant fix. My whole exhaust seems to move around a lot more nowbut it only hits in that one spot any ideas on how to tighten it up resolve the banging?

Oh BTW It sounds real nice not too loud deep and sexy mos def recomend it

well, if mos def recommends it i should get one but on the serious side - is the rubber mount old/worn out? i got all new on mine and that solved the problem. if that's not it jack up the car, get underneath and put a hammer to it to bend it out a little.

or if you want...go to a muffler shop and get a flange welded on the other side and put a rubber mount there - will fix the side to side shift.

Come on I put the doesn't that meen somthing

But anyway its hard to tell if its worn out probably tho the cars 6 years old now but it still feels stiff..maybe not stiff enough tho. We will see the guy that put it in for me said he'd fix the issue... hopefully for free.

So I took it back to the shop and told them about the banging and asked about welding on a second hanger they told me they could so now I'm wondering if the lack of movment in the exhaust is going to cause damage to the flanges or will the excessive movement cause more damage than having much less movement. Where they would mount the rod would only give the exhaust about 1/2 inch of movement. Now on to another issue the exhaust sounds a little strange its kind of a low pitched whisle/ vibration noise any one know what this may be?

that sounds like an exhaust leak, check all the flanges etc.

So I got the exhaust all fixed up new gaskets and had an extra hanger welded on so all the banging issues are gone. Without the leaks the system sounds 10x better plus my car really moves now super quick much better than stock. Very pleased
