anyone hear or prefer any of the above? Debating on which ones to get right now. Comfort? Price i see D2 are a little bit more but is there much difference between the two? I see alot of people on here rolling on D2 but not so much on Megans, is there any reason to that?

What are you trying to accomplish with coilovers? In my opinion, they're really kind of pointless unless you plan on racing the vehicle and want to change the damping rates and/or spring rates.. For a "street" car, if all you're really looking for is maybe a slightly lower stance and a slightly firmer ride, i'd recommend just going with a decent set of shocks with a good lowering spring and call it a day.. It will cost you less, and I think you'll be happier with the results. Coilovers really are a lot of extra complexity for really no reason, IMO. Most people want to say they have coilovers just for the sake of having them.

I don't think that you'll be able to "easily" adjust the height on the coilovers. I know on most cars it's a pain, and every time you change the height you will want to get an alignment. If you change the height even an inch, it's going to throw off your toe and camber enough that you'll get funny tire wear.

I would say you could live with a 1-1.5" drop year round no matter where you are. My Q has about a 2" drop and I daily drive it in Indiana, but I wouldn't want it to be any lower.

:dblthumb: Also depends on if you're going with bigger after market wheels.
For me, I love the sports rims so I just got KYB shocks/struts and dropped on Tien S.Techs.
The drop is perfect and able to clear most speed bumps.

AFTER - Notice the curb is really low, on a regular curb my front bumper will not clear.

For the price of coil over, you'll be able to get Springs, Shock/Struts and Brakemotive drilled/slotted rotors with pads :dblthumb:

i got lucky with a sweet deal at hibdon tires where they offer lifetime alignment - not sure if they still offer that but i would check! But i really want to have it slammed more for car meets sometime, just like that extra option

I would think bags weigh less than coilovers. The coils are heavier than rubber with air inside...??? I know my 1/4 mile times haven't been affected by my bags, the bbk on the other hand did.

this is some good information because I too was thinking about getting some coilovers after I get my wheels put on the whip.
Wangtang408, is there some kind of package deal you got and if so, do they make them for the 11m37s? if so would i still need to change my rotors and brakes and so forth by me having the sport's package? Thanks again fellas for such Good Information

What about the compressor, tank, hoses and controls? My co's def weigh less than stock but not sure about the bag system.

stm37s - no packages, I had to buy everything separately. Brakemotive would not work with your 2011 as you mention you have the sport package that means you have BBK (bigger rotors).

I didn't think about the tank and compressor/s lol. I remember when my boxes came in each box was around 25 kilos so all together I would say it was around a 100 lbs. the hose lines are light as a feather unless you have rubber ones mine are nylon/plastic type. Either way static weight isn't all that bad if you're thinking about trying to save weight.

You could get a Carbon fiber tank to save weight hehe
