Ok I got a whole entire Megan exhaust system for my car, SR20 o2 housing, SR20 downpipe, Catco cat, and Megan catback. Well I finally got the o2 housing on and went to test fit my downpipe to see what it's like. Well it appears the flange that bolts to the o2 housing is going to have to be cut and rotated a hair and rewelded because the flex section is crammed up against the frame rail and even if tightened down, 1 bolt will have a sizeable gap. I called a muffler shop up here to get an estimated price on having the flange cut and rotated and rewelded and then since they'd have it up on the lift, just install the rest of the exhaust. They quoted me a ballpark of $100 for the cut/reweld, then install of the rest.

To you guys who have had this problem, did rotating the flange work or did you have to do something else? I coulda swore I read that as long as you get the SR20 o2 housing you can use the SR20 downpipe and everything just bolts up. Also, I can't see where the bracket on the downpipe is supposed to bolt to. It was in the area behind the first exhaust hanger, but the bracket didn't appear to be close to anything it could bolt into. Any ideas would be appreciated.

CA motor mounts will keep the engine rotated correctly lower on the USDM driver side. Of course....they will be more than the $100 the shop is charging you. I would just take your car to Midas for an estimate of the same thing....you might get lucky and have one of the techs do the job quick on his lunch break as side work and charge you $50 cash (under the table). I paid them like $40 to weld in a cat I'd bought somewhere else (for my hardbody truck). It's worth it to shop around.
