Mechanics near Santa Monica, California

I'm new to this site. I have a 2007 G35. What mechanic do you recommend near Santa Monica, California? I bought my car in February, 2011 and mainly want to find a mechanic before I need one. First up: brake inspection.

Welcome to NICO! As a fellow southern California resident, I know how difficult it can be to find a trustworthy shop to work on my car. The biggest help in finding someone you can trust, are friends. Talk to people you know and ask them for their recommendations. Word of mouth is by FAR the biggest help in finding a shop. Most places will do brake inspections at no charge in hopes of doing the work. Good luck!

As far as shops go, one of the most reputable shop I know of in the LA area for Z's/G's is Specialty Z. Greg Dupree is the owner, and a great guy to work with. I'm not sure if they do just basic maintenance there, but it's worth giving them a call. As far as performance goes, however, their stuff is great.

I've had a few good experiences with Modestis. They've been in the industry for years and focus mainly on Japanese makes. They've got a great shop and great people there. They're located on Jefferson Blvd in Culver City. They have web site if you care to check them out.
