ok so i just got done with my sr swap in my 13 and now i am looking at gauges. here is where iam at for it

-megan or autometer (dont really care about pricing)

- i plan on getting boost/oil pressure and i am unaware of either getting mechanical or electric gauges

i do know that mechanical would be more precise but i am only going to be running 10lbs once everything is set.

any all all info will be appreciated along with personal useage of the product

please no bias opinions or things you heard from someone who heard it from someone.

i wanna make sure i do things right =]thanks!!!!

most people will say get what you want but don't go with cheap china brand gauges. It'll only last you a couple of months because their senders and "computer boxes" for the gauges are pieces of crap. Stick with brand name stuff and you'll be fine. Mechanical gauges are fine but just make sure there aren't any kinks in the lines and you're good. Personally I run electric greddy gauges and I haven't had any issues. In your case megan vs autometer; whatever tickles your fancy. Many people run both.

I'm a little more partial to all of one or the other, and digital is easier to read. but if something were to happen electronically I'd have no gauges. So I too haven't figured out yet what I want.

I have electric gauges also. If your running a mechanical oil temp or oil pressure and that line breaks you have oil all in your car.

This. If it measures anything to do with a liquid, get electrical. If it deals with boost, get mechanical. AFR and EGT should also be electrical.

They dont always zero out, they misread pressure, and they can leak and break.

Electric guages zero out and take thre pressure / temp at the source, not 6 feet of line away.

I use all autometer, I used to have 2 mechanical gauges, and now I am only electric.

I have 2 autometer gauges. Boost and oil pressure.Boost is mechanicalOil pressure is electric.

I will be getting an electric water temp too.

But yeah my sender for the oil pressure gauge broke, only cause I over tightened the nut and it snapped the stud on it

I've been using Autometer Phantom Electric oil press., temp, volt, and narrow a/f (filling a gap) and all work great. Im guessing my new water temp will do wonders too. Mechanical boost gauge FTW though, no doubt.

MECHANICAL OIL/WATER guages FTL!!

On my old s13 ran a blitz sbc boost controler it read very accurate and was easy to use.
