go with a mechanical oil temprature gauge, so when it breaks and sprays hot oil all over your face i can laugh at the fact that people still use mechanical guages :D

You can mount elec. gauges just about anywhere. Try that with a machanical gauge.

you can get electrical guages for $150

If its cheap and mechanical your asking for trouble. If a crack develops in a line, lets say the oil temprature line, not only will it give you the wrong reading, it will be spraying oil either inside your dashboard or all over your engine compartment.

There is a reason guys I know who build race motor's (I'm talkin NASCAR and NHRA motor's) call the mechanical guages "GuessOmeter" Even autometer's new premium line of guages is electric. That alone should say a lot.

And there is no reason at all to run fuel or oil into the cabin of the car for a mechanical gauge. It's just not safe.
