I rebuilt my ka24de and ever since i have been having a problem with the position of my distributor in relation to its mounting point, or alternatively speaking, the mechanical timing of my motor. heres the skinny.

fresh stock bore/stroke ka24de.
clevite 77 bearings
weisco 9:1 pistons
milled/decked/3angle head and valves
dual exhaust cam swap
all arp studs (head, crank, connecting rods)
CAI
no emiss/egr/swirl
stock exhaust mani and down pipe, cat delete, cat back exhaust
walbro255
megan fpr
all new water pump, oil pump, o2 sensor, fuel filter, injector o rings (not leaking) and the list goes on and on.

basically i have built this motor for a fun moderately boosted street car but i don't want to install the turbo until i have cleaned my plate so to speak. currently the car runs fairly well, idles at 750 with a slight lope. when its warm it will come off the line well, little to no hesitation. when its cold its a pig, hesitation but no stalling/backfiring. when its warm if you gas it, she carries well off the line and to about 2500 or 3k and then it looses all power until about 4k where it picks back up with a vengeance. also if you run it hard up to 6k or so and shift you get the distinct smell of unburnt gasoline really bad. i. so far i have checked for fuel leaks and tried to restab the dizzy about a dozen times with no luck, either it wont line up with the bolt holes or it ends up the way it is now...... it looks like this....
Image :wtf2:

as im sure you can tell that dizzy is retarded. the timing reads between 15 and 20 btdc. i have tried timing it over and over with no change in its state (yes i disconnected the tps). furthermore i took off the whole front cover and realigned my timing marks and still no change. friday i intend to remove the upper cover to check my marks again. any other input is highly appreciated.

Your idler sprocket is 1 tooth off.

Looks to far retarded, mine lined somewhere around the middle with 17 degrees at idle. I would take the cover back off and start from scratch. Or you can try and take the distributer off and try and turn it back a tooth. Whats your timming at now?

nope, its right. in the end i changed out the injectors the knock sensor and found the fuel gauge to be reading ten pounds too high. so my fuel pressure was somewhere around 30psi.
