mechanical opinion needed

Ok so this is the issue...when I start my car in the morning and am pulling out of the drive when I put my car in reverse and then put it in drive I hear a click when it seems to go into first gear. I have heard this on other occasions when I am leaving from work and put the car in drive. So it appears to make the noise when the car has been parked for a long period of time. I took it into the dealership because I don't remember hearing a click inbetween gears. They told me that this is a normal sound and it is caused by the ABS and it makes this noise when it fills up with fluid????? Does this make any sense to anyone and do your cars make the same click?
