My mechanic wants to do injector cleaning at 90K--but not on the service plan.

Am I getting ripped off?

He asked if this was done, and I did have a 60K service at the Nissan dealer.

This is my first time with this guy, and it sounded fishy even though he came recommended.

Any comments?

BG mechanical injector fuel rail flush?

It's good maintenance. The technician may know about what he is talking. Learn more.

Even if its some other fuel rail flush, theyre all about the same.. Wynns and so forth..

Good idea to do it regardless.

Just curious, how do they do this? I know they need a machine to do it but do they need to be pulled from the rail for the proceedure?

How much should I expect to pay?

The 90K service alone is $450 (ouch?)

If you change your fuel filter every 12K, probably every 30K or so. Depends where you are, the quality of gas, the contaminats in the gas.

I didnt think youd need to do it that often.. I was thinking more like 60k

Qship, what they do is take the fuel hoses to/from the fuel tank off the fuel rail and hook up their own machine...
