mechanic leaves crowbar on my friends wheel,then lowers lift

Mechanic accidentally leaves a crowbar attached to the wheel of my friend's car, as he lowered the lift, the bar caught something and pushed the car all the way to the left.

He brought his car in for an alignment

Yeah i wasnt there but thats what he told me on the phone, he sent the pictures to his fb and i took it from there. i have no idea what a crowbar was doing there either. (unless he said cross wrench)

thats intense... my guess is what happened is the crow bar picked the car up, and then as it moved it slid sideways..

How would you not notice as the lift goes down that something is wrong?
