Can anyone recommend a mechanic in Phoenix AZ area to check Q45? I have owned it for over 20 years and it runs perfect but now my daughter is using it in another city so can't check it myself. ABS light combined with all the stability/traction lights. I'm guessing either ABS sensors in the wheels or the steering wheel sensor, but would like someone with a clue to confirm what the real problem is.

BTW, the car will be for sale soon if anyone in Phoenix would be interested.

Did you ever find a mechanic? If so I can recommend one there…

Hi, thanks for the message but no, have not found one but also stopped looking as we have decided to just donate it to charity and be done. She still drives it until she gets a replacement as everything works fine except for the lack of ABS and traction.

Oh okay, well that’s nice. I was going to say: a place off van Buren near airport set me up right a few yearss ago. But I guess now it’s called: My Mom's Tire Shop & Wheel Alignment. However that’s not what it was called before lol, the guy who worked on mine may or may not still be there.

Personally though, I just go to any mechanic shop that is willing to work on it for a decent price. It’s not as complicated of a car as I once thought. The newer cars of today with their electronic everything are way more complex. Having a Cadillac, I can certainly see the difference

Thanks. That's what I thought too but my daughter went to two mechanics - some tire shop next door which had no clue, plus some Japanese cars specialist who said that the car is too old for them to diagnose and work on :-(. Those are just DIY cars and no point to have them otherwise it seems.

Ah, yeah I forgot you said 2002 in the post. In that case, yeah that’s when the electronics get a bit more complex. Even though it’s probably something fairly simple.

I think too, some mechanic shops don’t want to go down the “rabbit hole” of fixing on an older car, so they just push it off as “too old”.

I been trying to get an alignment for the past month. Went today it’s a whole different story of what I need than couple months ago. Sometimes best to just stick with the same 1 or 2 mechanics for stuff like this. Too many differing opinions just makes it hard to get stuff done

If you're still looking, I would give these guys a call, they specialize in the early Z32 and might be able to help. On Deer Valley rd, north phoenix.

The car still runs well and we have it so this place looks like they may actually be able to fix the ABS etc. Thanks for the pointer!

Q45inca,
If they turn you down, try Cactus Imports on Cave Creek and Thunderbird. I have seen an occasional G35 there.

I meant to follow up to this and say: my other vehicle, a Cadillac does the same thing. However, I was able to catch it when it started: it was due to a buggy traction control button. It’s located right under the cup holders. So over time, gunk and even accidental pressing would cause it to mess up. Most recently, the button stopped retracting hardly at all. So instead of saying traction on/off on the dash, all the abs/suspension lights would come on, until I unplugged it, cleaned it up. But I had to find another button anyway because whatever mechanism it uses to switch, seems to have stopped working.

You’d be hard pressed to find out it’s as simple as that.

Thanks, good idea, will check it out but not likely as the q45 has this button under dash and practically never used
