Hey guys, just after some quick info, first off, ill start with this.

CA18DEIntake - 248 degrees - 8.5mm liftExhaust - 248 degrees - 8.5mm lift

CA18DET - just for your referenceIntake - 240 degrees - 7.8mm liftExhaust - 248 degrees - 8.5mm lift

Okay, i have, from what i got told, a de intake cam sitting in the spare motor.

Is there a way i can measure the cam somehow to find out if i do ? e.g. if i get my verneers, and measure the lobe on the exhaust, then measure the lobe on the intake, would i be able to see the difference ?

Thanks

Pain in the ***.

Has anyone successfully measure the cams in operation? I tried to get a dial gauge down on the lifter but the cam is too crowded in there for a standard gauge, you need a long anvil type. I ghettoed some aluminum rod to the anvil to reach down in there but the accuracy of that is suspect. I wanted to get a chart put together of actual lobe profiles and I need to be able to accuretely monitor lifter motion for that. Just haveing lift and duration numbers is not the whole story. The shape of the ramps impacts behavior as well and a 272 is not the same 272.

I have seen the proper gauges you are talking about, but never actually used one.

The lift rate is what is in subject on ns.com about the 18de and 16de cams.

That's what I was curios about. The CA16 and 18 cams on paper are the same so I was pretty certain the lobes were a different profile. I have a set but I did'nt mark them at the time and now I don't remember which cams are them! Dam I am dumb sometimes:bash

ive got a set of ca16 and a set of ca18 cams sitting out right now. ill try to check them out. just having run both i think there was a slight difference with the ca16 cams. nothing big but the car idled a little funny and seemed to go a little longer. i may just be talking out of my arse, but i shall go check.
