Came across this the other day. Very freaking interesting to me cause we're learning about nuclear physics in class and the kind of energies involved with nuclear fusion and fission. Sustainable nuclear fusion reactors, which are much, MUCH more efficient than nuclear fission reactors currently in operation, and produce nearly no radioactive materials, would change the world drastically.

tl;dr Chinese scientists maintained nuclear fusion at 10 million degrees C for 400 seconds. I asked my professor about this, he was not even aware we could do this for 400 milliseconds. They also maintained fusion at 100 million degrees C for one minute. To put that in perspective, the center of the sun is about 15 million degrees C iirc.
