in the thread about the dems leaving the state to avoid a vote
you seemed more concerned about what was "legal" in your defense of
the dems

Because the topic was the representative form of government, and whether denying quorum was a legitimate form of representation.

Though I csn see your point, this isn't really about the structure of government. I even acknowledged that Z could think it was an inappropriate use of the Senate rules, but that saying it wasn't a legitimate form of representation kinda took it too far.

In arguing about the merits of the action, I didn't hang my hat on the legality of the action. I believe what I said was that this might be the best way for the Democrats to represent the interests of their constituents.
