Hmm found this on the internet. What do you all think?
Assuming it is set up the same as the Turbonetics WG, and I think mostexternals are, there are two ways to hook up the controller. If you put itin the line as you describe you would leave the top port on the gate open toatmosphere. If you do it this way boost rises more sharply and will tend tospike by about 2 psi. You can also connect it using both the top and bottomports. You run a line from the boost source directly to the side port on thegate. Place a T in that line and run a hose to the inlet of the MBC. Fromthe MBC outlet run another hose to the top WG port. This gives you slightlymore progressive spool and zero spiking and is the way an external WG isintended to be used. Note that in the first case reducing the flow throughthe MBC increases boost while in the second reducing flow through the MBCreduces boost.----- Original Message ----- From: "Mikel" <Mikel at dirtyazn.com>To: <mkiv at mkiv.com>Sent: Monday, May 05, 2003 9:16 PMSubject: [mkiv] External Wastegate vacuum line routing...
I'm trying to setup my innovative external gate and Hallman MBC. I have aquestion about the hose routing. DE's website is kinda confusing in thedirections for routing the hoses correctly to the wastegate.
The way I read it, I should run the pressure source to the hose barb that'skinda in the middle of the wastegate, the straight fitting, as opposed tothe 90° fitting. The MBC should be plumbed into that line, obviously, asit's the signal line.
What do I do with the top hose barb?
Is my understanding correct?
