Rev it up is a Mazda organized event where in you run an autocross style course in a Mazda provided car (this year it's the new 3). The winner nationwide gets money and a car I believe.

it's 40 dollars entrance fee, but this comes with free test drives of new cars courtesy the test drive center, clinics run by pro drivers to help with cornering, braking and slalom (scourge of the auto x) (these are somewhat brief as far as teaching goes, but you can repeat it as much as you want.

all in all, a very fun experience, I did it last year and drove the new 6.

this year however, the RX-8 is gonna be in the test drive center and I aim to have the tell me to slow down again:devil (the 6 has a bit of understeer if you go into a corner hard:D)

http://www.mazdarevitup.com/home/f_default.asp

that has the times and locations and more info then I provided, enjoy!

:rotflmaoIt's good to see they have a sense of humor:

21. In the event of a Red Flag being waved on course, competitors must immediately stop and wait for further instruction from the nearest course worker. Reruns will be given to resolve the problem. Unless the problem is something that destroys the entire track like an earthquake or a meteor shower. Re-runs will be awarded on a case-by-case basis only by the Chief Steward or Course Manager.

I found it funny. :beatfreak

Sounds awesome to far for me though.

Enough NICO members should go and be sure to drive around the test track with a NICO sticker on the Mazda....that would just kick ***, be sure to get pics.

Grrr... why don't they trust people under 18? Is it a yearly thing? cause if so I'm going either next year or the year after... lamely enough it might be right before my birthday again...

not trust, insurance thing I'm sure

easier then keeping up with a bunch of waivers

you should go anyway, me and Skewerl should be in the ATL for it this summer, kinda far off, but got give the others a head start on it:)

Japican, you get to drive the new 3 this year, it was the 6 last year and they had some Miatas and Proteges at the test drive center as well as a couple 6's.

This year it's the RX-8 and the 3 to the line up:D

I may make it out to either the Chicago, St. Louis, or Atlanta event. I wanted to go last year but couldn't get my schedule to cooperate.

i did it last year...ended up like #16 over all for gender in Miami. I had one wet run(it rained) and one dry run. It was alot of fun, very hot (in miami).

My first run, i got to be "featured driver" which they followed me with commentary during my run, and i got interviewed afterwards, and received a bag of goodies (cd, tshirt, hat.etc....)

the cars were a little beat up, the throttle response was sketchy, regardless it was fun

I hope they are, or have the option to use one, but I bet they'll all be auto's.

yeah, no speeding on test drive, but I didn't see a posted limit:D

they don't like to hear tires squall while in a turn or in general. Or retards that abused the Mazdaspeed Protege:(

I'm anxious to get in an RX-8, and I hope some of the people they had there last year will be back

Yeah they make them all auto so that it is completly even. Remember not everbody can drive a manual, and they want as many people as possible to attend.
