its mainly on take off acceleration. once in a while it will do it when i hit a bit and accelerating.and it mainly only does it when i the wheel is turned to the right more then 1/2 way lock. thats why i didnt think it would be hubs... and i kind of am doubting it is breaks, bakes... but maybe?
hub splines, as in the axel would be striped? or something? or is that just hub bearings?
thank you!
Well without knowing your level of mechanical knowledge, its hard to point out key things to look for, but I shall attempt to. Being as it seems to be a problem under load.
If it is suspension: check your bushing mounts. split or misaligned bushings can shift or seperate under acceleration. Look at the strut mount tower and see if it has signs of movement(shiny metal around the mounting nuts). Check for lack of resistence in ball joints in control arms, and tie rod ends. (Jacking of vehicle may be required to relieve some pressure from the afore mentioned items.)
In drivetrain: look at engine torsion bar(aka dogbone), motor mounts, as for the hub, with tires off the ground, you can check for freeplay in top and bottom of suspended tire. Check that there is no ovalling out of the lug nut channels, shiny metal on hub mounting plate for a sign of wheel slip, look at axle mounting nut for rust/shiny metal around mounting nut.
Hope that helps a little...
