I'm so tired of having the slowest car out of all my friends. I roll with a 350whp jetta, a 300whp talon, a 280hp integra, and a couple modded 1.8t VWs. and then here I am with my 125whp stock 240. I hate it! I NEED MORE POWER!

Anyways, my KA is strong as far as I know. It has the infamous timing chain rattle, 90K miles, and I ran a 15.6 with it in the quarter. My goal is to get 300 ft. lb torque and 260whp. I want to trap 105-110mph in the quarter.

I want to go with the FMAX stage 2 kit, now my questions are... - With the 50lb injector setup, and proper tuning, will I be able to run more boost than the 370cc injector setup (in the stage one kit)?- Is the amount of boost you can run really limited by rods/pistons/compression ratio? Or is it limited by fuel and ignition?- Basically my main question is can I reach my goal with the stage one kit, JWT ecu, and a S-AFC+tuning ?

I realize I am not the most turbo savvy guy on the boards, but I need power and turbos the only way to go. (no juice for me)

Yes - JWT program for 50lb / Cobra MAF / Top Feed Rail will do ~350rwhp easily...and I have done 104.4mph traps with ~255rwhp (8.5-9psi) in my pudgy S14. So you can easily meet your goals...

And no need for an AFC if it's installed right, with no boost leaks. JWT is conservative, and a little rich, but not bad enought to need an AFC!

The Stage II F-Max kit has been proven to make good, reliable power for YEARS on a few notable S14s.

For example, at 14psi, a guy in AZ (TY, goes by "97 S14 SE Turbo" on Freshalloy) made 318rwhp...and does drift, track events, and daily driving at that level, for +4 years and something like 70,000 miles now. No problems...

thanks a lot, didnt get an answer to this question though.

- Is the amount of boost you can run really limited by rods/pistons/compression ratio? Or is it limited by fuel and ignition?

With the stage 2 kit, since it has upgraded fuel system, would i be able to run more boost?

And with no afc, how will i tune it? just slap the JWT ECU in there and call it a day?

the 50lb injector program should net your 400 crank hp. Dont get the 4 bar fuel pressure program. I say, if you plan on running on stock internals for a while, then go with the 50lb injector program. But if you decide to build your motor up and want more boost, then the 72lb injector program will be needed. You can use the S-AFC if you want on top of the JWT tuning but at least you'll be running safe and coming close or beating your friends. With whatever fuel setup you go with, just make sure and dyno it with wideband before you go turning up the boost.
