Ok guys, I don't know if i'm on crack or what but there's this problem with my Q that no one else notices when riding but me.

:So I'm driving along and everything is going fine. Loving my car and all that gushy stuff when it 'lurches'. By lurches I mean it seems to lunge forward for a split-second but then it's fine. No one riding notices it but I the driver do.

Has anyone heard of this problem or have any remedies?

Nick :)

P.S. will be posting list of problems i want to tackle over the summer shortly

Sorry Fred,

1990 Q45, 247,703 on the odometer. Original engine. Rebuilt transmission at 238,000 w/ transmission cooler. I've recently replaced 2 injectors, MAF connector, P/S pump, shocks and thermal temp sensor on engine. All parts are OEM. I also replaced spark plugs about a year ago (ngk). Location is Kansas so really weird weather all the time.

If you need any other information just let know. Thanks in advance for your help.

Usually takes place in the 25-40mph range. transmission is on drive. I don't have a JWT TCU so it still starts in second gear. I'm not flooring it or anything so I'd say about mid-throttle.

Might check for a worn spot [momentary drop out in resistance] of TPS voltage. The ecu only checks TPS for function at start up, if voltage is close to right then drops for a split second might cause something like you describe........hard to track down even to test for this........get a junk yard replacement and swap..............things with 250k can develop weird symptoms.

Could also be the lockup TC clutch in transmission.

A problem with knock sensors will cause hesitation in this range, that may feel like a surge or slight jerk.. have you checked ECU codes lately?

Thanks for the help guys. I will be checking both the TPS voltage and the ECU codes this weekend. I'll let you know what I find out.

Nick
