I was browsing eBay and I came across this guys site, he has a t3/to4e for $295 (dont worry, I am not considering a purchase) But his turbo has a 5 bolt flange on the back, I thought that was a t2x thing? I also thought that the 5 bolt was generally internally gated? Am I confused or is it the listing.

here is the link to the turbo:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=true

hmmm. I guess I just always assumed the 5 bolt was for a t2x. thanks.

There are different size 5 bolt flanges. I think there is a Nissan/mercedes size and then a ford style but don't quote me on that.

I get. I guess I never really thought about it.anyway? do you have pics? Also, why did you choose the super 60 over a t3t4 hybrid?Im not criticizing, I am trying to select a turbo now and I am going back and forth between a t3 s60 and a t3/t4 50 trim. What type of power levels do the t3 s60 generally see?

10 psi nets me 225/260 on super 60. I hope to hit the 300hp range but that will be the absolute limit on that turbo. I chose the S60 for instant spool up

The T2's 5bolt outlet

The T3's 5bolt outlet

I'm very curious about the T3 S60 vs T4 50 trim...

I just got a t25 out of a 95 talon(For Free, WOOT WOOT, and a SMIC), it looks like that top pic.

This might sound totally retarded, but I am a total newb on turbo's and I have spent the better part of the night triyng to weave my way through DSM hell. Is that an internall waste gated turbo, IE: I cant replace / dont need a waste gate

End of thread jack, surry

yes, the top turbo is internally wastegated. It also appears that yours is internally wastegated as well. To be honest, I havent ever seen a t2x externally gated. I am pretty sure its possible, but I have never seen it.

you should be able to bypass the internal wg if you want to run an external one. but you dont need one.

I've seen it on a few cars before. Weld the wastegate flap shut, tag on an external gate.

you could also just remove the actuator and get the 5 bolt flange that covers the w/g flapper
