maybe engine died !!! help here, ford 302 v8

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

yep... i went to the 1/4 mile 2 weeks ago.. yea i have not good luck because i break the plastic engine mounts. its a sad history and burn 3 spark plug wires. they hit the exhaust manifold and since then car fails a lot.

what i did?....- change all lifters... old lifters were good.- new oil change but i didnt change oil filter.- new motorcraft spark plugs- i remove the agresive cam and install the stock cam.

when i asembly all parts, i use lucas oil because i want a good start.

so whats the problem i have now?

well the problem was a erratic idle with the agresive cam ( 278 ) and engine dances a lot at idle and hadnt power at high rpms... it was fine before went to the track.

i put the oem cam in the engine and start it today... it starts fine.. very quiet and engine dont dance but when engine warmed up, it starts to fail a lot... same problem... erratic idle... engine dances in the engine bay and then stop running.

could it be a stuck filter?? i remember i put some oil in it and maybe it was dirty...

engine fails a lot then its warm... problem its similar when some spark plugs wires fail or are damaged, but my spark plug wires are new. they are a garlo chevy spark plugs wires.

maybe a compresion problem???

i have like 500usd to buy some 5.0 HO engine here in my city .. direct plug and play but i dont want to waste all my money so some good advices on what i can do before i try another engine.

thanks =)

i miss the cam sound. now my car sound like and probe v6 =(((

problem was solved and the 16.7 in the 1/4 mile maybe was caused because ignition module. "crane cams ignitor rx-i" .

the conversion from point to electronic had a failure. when module was new it work fine but it fail at time bcause some part in the kit are made from plastic.

now my distributor has point ignition and works very fine. i need to test car in 1/4 mile to see how good its working.
