I posted about my car smoking and most think it needs a new turbo. Will this one be ok http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1 or to big? Just let me know. I am still using the SMIC too. Also with it being an ebay special does anyone have first hand experiance with one of these kits?

that's a big *** turbo. but you gotta think about tuning and fuel. bigger injectors, fmic(if you don't have one), bigger maf, fuel controller etc. more gauges would be a good idea too.

I don't think that turbo would be to big. They just call it a T70 i'm assuming because it has a .70 a/r compressor housing. I also don't know much about turbos so I could be wrong.

Not sure about the size of it, but in my opinion, buying some off-brand made in china turbo, BOV, AND wastegate is a complete recipe for disaster.

You couldn't give me those for FREE and have me run them on my car car.

If you're not going to upgrade fuel/maf at the same time as a turbo, I would just go with a T28/GT28/Big 28 and keep the boost down until you get a new MAF and injectors.

I feel the same way about the quality of the parts, I didn't think it was necessary to comment on how awful that stuff probably is.

Wrong.

It's a chinese made knock-off of a garrett turbo and a TurboXS BOV.

The TurboXS bov has stickers on it that say such, and garrett turbos say "garrett" on the turbo ID tag, the ones in the auction just say "turbocharger". In addition, the wastegate is a generic chinese-made rip-off of a real TiAL wastegate.

You're not getting name brand stuff for that price, think about it.

REAL Garrett T3/T4 hybrid - $600REAL TurboXS RFL - $90REAL TiAL 38mm gate - $220REAL TiAL flanges - $50 extraSS AutoCrack top-mount manifold - $300misc gaskets - $50total - $1310

That all aside, if you go with that setup plan on having to make a custom o2 housing as well as a custom downpipe.
