I'd like to get a small piece of metal with the Midnight Purple 1 color on it that came on some of the GT-Rs. It doesn't have to be very large at all, 1"x1" will do. I was trying to source some of that paint a while ago and the paint codes don't exist in the states. If you can get a swatch that would be easiest and lightest for shipping purposes.

I have a buddy with access to a color analyzer and we're gonna try and mix some paint as close to this as we can for my Z. If any help can be given, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the paint codes somewhere around here but Nissan of North America doesn't have the paint or else they don't want to bring it in for whatever reason.

I used to have a recipe for Midnight Purple III but I didn't want that much flair...I just want a nice deep purple color (not the color the Zs had, its not the right shade). The only other option I found was a new Honda color (Blackberry Purple on the new 09 Fits) and I'd rather stick to Nissan if at all possible.

The color code for the R33 Midnight Purple is LP2. You might be able to coax Courtesy Nissan to get you some...and I believe they are a sponsor here. I suggest shooting them an e-mail and see what they can do.

As far as getting piece of metal, I don't have any spare pieces that have the color on it, and I don't plan on hacking up my car anytime soon...lol.

I could never ask someone to take a piece of their car for my own needs. That would be wrong lol

I do appreciate the tip on Courtesy Nissan though. I'll shoot them an email with the paint code and see what they have to say. Thanks.

you could go to a paint shop and have your car's color analyzed for him and let him know the results!!!

This may seem obvious, but a gas lid door is the easiest thing to remove and have a sample large enough to get a match. How about some of the salvage yards in Oz that I see advertised here & there?
