Ok so I'm not new to the cars, but it's been a wile. I've owened an 80 280z, 92 z32tt, 93z32 2+2, and a 84z31t. I'm looking at this 91z32tt. The guys says the car is fine, but its been sitting for 5 years or so. he started it and it ran smooth at idle. Giving the car gas led to sputtering. He said bad gas. I wonder what all goes wrong with a car that sits. When I first saw the car and he told me it only had 69k mi. I was like, "yeah maybe on the tires," and then I saw the amazingly clean engine bay. I really wonder what I'm looking at and what all I should do before shelling out the $4k he wants for the car? Could it really be? If it's all so then the car is a deal right? Even if I spend a few K.

what year and model are you looking at? and is it in fact 69k miles? if the timing belt hasn't been done it needs to be, other than that the normal fluids hoses and belts, and diagnose the sputtering problem, could be a bad injector or a bad coil pack, perhaps even the PTU

Ill give u a head start

Most of the 300zx's have been through over 10 years of hell. If i were u i would get it checked out by a nissan dealer or someone who knows these cars to be sure everything is ok. A compression test would be the first thing i would do.

no, they aren't gopnna do anything without charging, and on a Z32 it's a huge pain to do a compression test as you have to remove the balance tube and all 6 coil packs
