So, I've been trying to sell or trade my 240, and I've had a lot of offers, from the completely asinine to the slightly less ridiculous. Nothing amazing though. I needed some advice though. I wanted to know what you all thought about the potential trades... just like, is it a good deal? Is it probably going to crap out in a month? Do some of the mods on the cars make it a ticking time bomb? That kind of stuff. My original post is here: http://www.vadriven.com/forums...54107

There's an eclipse and a civic there. The eclipse is a little more than I was looking for, but the civic seems like a decent deal. Kinda high miles... I guess I have so much sentimental value in my car, that I'm having a hard time recognizing a fair trade.

The other offer I got was via email-

" ill trade you my h22a accord with about 5k in mods but is extremely reliable.

here are the mods:

* Details:o Mileage: 136,000 on the bodyo Interior Condition: Clean no rips, just minor stuff from original owner* Mods : custom catback 2.5" exhaust to magnaflow muffler (deep and quiet), headers, and cai*engine:jdm h22a blacktop bottom end/type s headbottom end rebuilt-eagle rods-darton sleeves-type s pistons-polished and balanced crank-head gasket replaced w/steel head gasket from nippon racing

head-type s head (port and polished)-type s camshafts-type s valve train

transmission:has the f22b2 transmission(longer gears great for boost)ACT street lite flywheel(f22b2)6 puck ACT clutch

suspension:dropzone racing coilover kit( full kit)

car was converted to obd1 so i have a p13 ecu tuned by jun with an adapter harnessalso has foglights as well"

This one seems like the best deal so far. I'm looking for reliability and practicality over a dropzone racing coilover kit though. Are these mods craptastic, or are they decent mods that may extend the life of the car? I don't really know a whole lot about Hondas, but the Accord seems like a pretty good deal.

Sorry this is so long. Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

P.S. Please no anti-Honda sentiments just because. If it's a legit issue, that's fine, but I'm really not looking for a bunch of "Honda SUXXXXXXXXXXX" posts. As much as I'd like to hold out for an Altima or newer Sentra, none of those are really coming my way. Thanks again.

He doesn't want anything on top, and the pictures make it look like a late 90's.

94-97, depends on the tail lights. if the swap was done correctly and thoroughly, it'll be a solid and quick car.

s13 iDRIFT and 240sxJoe91, I already know I'm going to miss my car as soon as I get rid of it. I've put countless amounts of blood, sweat, and tears, not to mention time and money into it over the last 5 years. I just need something that requires less time and maintenance, is slightly larger, and is better suited for downtown city driving. I actually owned a brand new 2003 Civic when I bought my 240 as a project race car, but I loved the 240 so much it became my daily driver and I got rid of the Civic. Thanks for the heads up though. I know it's going to suck... it'll be almost like a pet dying, but I gotta do what I gotta do. I wish I had the means to keep the 240 and just buy something else, but money's super tight right now... which is the reason I can't keep putting my time and money into it. I can't stand to not take care of it properly, and I'd much rather somebody who's able to take care of it gets it rather than watching it die... it's kinda like Marley and Me, except I'm trying to avoid it dying a slow painful death.

And numbnuts240, I really know next to nothing about Honda aftermarket stuff, especially the engine swaps and all that. I really need to hop on google and do some research, but my internet is very slow and unreliable. Is there anything I need to look out for with the swap, aside from the obvious? I'm gonna check out superhonda.com also and see what they have to say. I was trying to avoid honda fanboys though. :|

Nissan > Mitsubishi > Honda. RWD > FWD. 2DR > 4DR. Why trade if you have a lot of sentimental value in your car, then its like someone is going to be driving you. I say keep it..240's are reliable and aren't that costly to fix..Parts are cheaper compared to other cars.

As much as I love it, it's not much of a family car, and that's what I need right now. Could you imagine trying to get a toddler out of a carseat in the back seat? I really don't want to have to deal with that when that time comes. I'm not necessarily trying to trade up for something cooler or faster. I'm trying to get something more practical. The 240 was awesome when I was single and didn't have much else going on, but as a family car... not so much.

unfortunately, you're going to get a lot of 240 fanboys asking that question here. h22's are the engines that came in preludes. i believe the jdm variants are more powerful, and coupled with the type s head, it'll move. some oem headlights and a decent set of wheels will set that car off. it's your choice and you obviously have your priorities to factor in. when the time comes, i'll need a 4 door car myself and whether i can realistically keep my s14 or not will be decided then. think about it, do your research and go from there.

If you buy a honda for a daily then that's ok, but trading a 240 for one is just lame. Enjoy missing every reason you got a 240 in the first place and try to get over modding a car your mom wouldn't mind driving. Of course this excludes nsx's and s2000's.
