The dealer is out of town. He located the car I want, which is out of state. All questions have been answered except mileage. He also will not tell me where he is getting the car, but I understand the reason behind that (I think).

My question is this: How many miles would you accept on a brand new car?

My father says 100 max. My buddy says 0-300.

We let the salesman know he will get a deposit when we get the mileage. That was at end of business today, so first thing in the morning he'll let us know. If all goes well, I could take delivery of my A/C next week!!!

Hopefully not too many miles. My car had 7 miles when I got it.

It would depend on how it got to the dealer. If they shipped it in a container, it would be best. Hopefully they don't drive the car halfway across the country. The car should still not have too many miles (even if you factor in occasional test drives, etc).

I bought mine with 58 miles on it and they drove it from a nearby dealer. I'd say if its within reasonable distance they will probably drive the car from where it is.

Think of it this way. At least the mileage on the car wont be of test drives but rather of an old dude that works on delivering cars for the dealer. It will be treated properly I'm sure.

Yeah,I'm worried about test drive miles AND somebody I don't know being rough w/ my new baby. I guess I'm just not that trusting of people. I'm afraid the driver would treat my new car like I treat rentals; which isn't very good!!!

I had 5 on mine when I bought it. I told them specifically to not allow anyone to drive the car at all. I honestly think under 20 miles is the limit. Because you never know how the other test drivers drive the car. Brakes, tires, engine, everything gets affected by just 1 person driving.

There's a reason why you buy a "NEW" car.

You're all right. I think I'm going to go to my dealer this afternoon and see about just ordering a new one. Any thoughts on potential wait times? 2.5 CVT w/ Convenience and moon roof.

I'm buying mine under invoice via VPP. Lucky for me, my dad works for Union Pacific so we're going to get a pretty good deal. Ran out of time this afternoon, but looks like tomorrow we'll go back and place an order for my A/C. Sweet!

You're looking for a Code Red 3.5? I just test drove one of those. It has leather seats, blond interior, moon roof. They want $26k for it.

The tank was on E, so I was given a gasoline voucher and took it gas station to fill it up. (Talk about a head turner. More attention at the pump than I'm used to, anyways)

At the gas station, a guy in a pretty new 350z pulled up next to me. A/C are so much prettier than z's. (And surprisingly larger!)

Why are you surprised that a 4 seater is larger than a 2 seater?

I know a four seater will be bigger than a two seater (I didn't mean to sound like a dummy).

I just hadn't been up close to a z for a while.

Get off my stinky dinky !!! Sheesh!!!

Yea, i would only buy one with a few miles. Over 100 is risky because people would tend to push the car. Luckily only one person test drove my car. Only 18 miles on mine. If it has more then 100, try to discount the price even more.
