Why does my car max at 118?It's an SR swap. No cat, no exhaust. It has the 255 fuel pump.Any ideas?

Do you have the manual computer in your car? The manual Computer governs at 118 - 119 MPH however, the automatic computer, is not governed.

Well, it was an automatic car, but I had it converted. So I'd imagine that the computer was changed as well.

Yeah, it probably would've been. I've been told you could run a car with an standard transmission off of an auto computer. I would like to know if this is possible. When I was buying a new manual computer, no one would sell me an automatic one because I couldn't give them the numbers they wanted, so nobody would do it for me.

you can run a manual transmission KA on the auto KA ECU, but you throw lots of codes. No limiter however.

He has an SR swap. I KA's you cut the yellow wire with green stripe. 13th down IIRC. I don't know if it's the same for the SR.

well you can just get ur ecu tuned or unplug the sensor off the transmission or cut the wire off the ecu.. but do some research first.. then you will have your answer

LOL Yeah you might wanna swap out that ECU. Not to sure though. I got an SR ECU with my front clip. Dunno how fast I've been but I'd be willing to bank that it was 150 or more.

Its the yellow w/ green stripe. If you have a full auto timer you connect this wire to the turbo timer and dont reconnect back to the ECU. Now you can do 160mph!
