Hi, I am sorta shopping around for deals on wheels for my versa. Trouble is, even though I knew I was going to be in the market for new wheels soon, I just got a new set of tires for the stock wheels. The tires are the standard 185/6515R (I think that's right) and I don't want to get new tires if I get new wheels, so I am limiting myself to looking at 15" wheels, which is good because they seem to be cheaper anyway. My question is, does anyone know how large in terms of width I can get away with using these same tires? The stock wheels are 5.5", and most aftermarkets out there in the 15" size seem to be in the range of 6.5-8 inches or so. Can I get away with 6.5"? What about 7? What are the potential issues?

you can even got 8 or more.. but totally not recommended.. unless your ok with endangering your life and anyone that rides with you.. you see and read alot of those fools that stretch tires on huge rims but as cool as it looks and how much lower you can get think realisticly about how much patch contact that tire actually has and how it handles to everyday roads.. if you get 15' wheels most will be 6.5" or 7" and 7" is pushing it! it starts to stretch at 6.5" slightly.. just something to keep in mind. look for wheels that are 15x6.5' and you should be fine.. anything more and itll start stretching pretty badly and result in dangering yourself and risking damaging your wheels and suspension..
