Maximum speed ?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

What is the speed cutoff level for the EX35?I know that here in Canada car builders must program a speed cut-off which I think is based on the tires limitations.I have reached 180 km/h (111 mph) this week.Any guess ?

Thanks

the most common cutoffs i see are 180 Kph/113 mph or 155mph/250 kph.

I have a feeling that Infiniti's are capable of going faster than any of us really wants to experience. However, if you are a really good (trained) driver and you want to find out, then why not run your car in the Silver State Classic. This event is held annually in Nevada. A 90 mile stretch of public highway, out in the middle of no where, is blocked off and cars are allowed to drive all 90 miles as fast as they like. The record is something like 200mph.

Here is a linkie to the event.

I had my wifes 2004 G35X up to 122mph and it was still climbing when I shut it down , never hit the limiter . I let her rip way out in western Kansas on highway 50 all by myself on the road with new BF goodrich tires and new breaks .

I dont think I would want to run my EX35 awd that high , as its not close enough to the ground for me .

Most of the Infiniti line up EX/FX/G/M could probably hit 155MPH/250 kph, problem is you would need a extremely long stretch of road and a couple of minutes to hit it. There is a youtube video i saw a while ago somebody takes a newer 06+ Infiniti M and gets it up to 250 KPH/155.

In my g-35 Coupe 6MT with a few modifications, it doesn't take a minute or a long stretch to reach 1** miles or more. And It can be achieved quite easily in 4th gear alone. I still have 5th and 6th gear to keep cruising at those levels.

Not that I would attest to it in a court of law, for obvious reasons, but I have it on good authority that 130mph is quite attainable. Now, if I could just hack the video so my Smoky & the Bandit I and II CD would play at the same time.......

I had my Ex up to 82 mph the other day. It has only 750 miles so far so after break-in I will see if I can get 160 mph. Just kidding. My last two cars were an Audi S4 and and Audi TT so I have had my fun and stupidity with driving over 150 mph. I bought the EX to be more responsible so I doubt I will ever see triple digits again. Until I can afford an Audi R8.

I don't see anything responsible about a luxo wagon with 300hp

True, but the EX is the ultimate sleeper car. When I had my Audi's, at every stoplight most ricers with the airplane rear wings wanted to race. It was fun embarrassing them with their girlfriend in the girl. I did have some retard in an RDX try to race me in my EX but until I reach the 1200 mile break-in, I will behave.

an RDX couldn't keep up with my 170hp other car so I don't think you have to worry about that turd. I've gotten into mine a couple of times on accident but i am trying to follow the break in rules. Sometimes it will hunt for a gear too hard under moderate acceleration and sweep up to 5k even though they say avoid revving above 4k.

I did 225kph and it did want to go faster.I felt room to go faster but my exit was right around the corner.I don't think you need long stretch for 200+kph

You were at THAT speed & rather than top it out, you took your exit, rather than the next???!!! Shame, shame!
