Hello, im new to the forums. Im 16 and planning on buying my first car within the next 6 months. Obviously the car I'm going for is a G35(coupe) or I wouldn't be here. I race Downhill mountain bikes to get my speed fix right now, and I'm ready to add another whip.

My question is,(yes Im already planning ahead) once I have a G, there is no way Ill be able to leave it stock. I already have some ideas but don't yet know a lot about cars.(UTI in a year!) Anyway, I want to know what I can do to a stock G to get the most possible HP without adding a Turbo or Supercharger. Im already know I want one thing for sure, and that's a Top Speed cat back exhaust system, but Im stuck from there. Obviously I am going to be low on cash as I am financing the G, so my hope is that you experienced guys can find the cheapest but best valued parts and give me some advice on where to start.

if you can:Link?Performance Chip?Price?Estimated HP boost?Professional or Personal install?

Thanks,Neal

Edit: BTW, it will be a 5At 03-05 Coupe

Welcome to NICO.

There's an entire sub-forum dedicated to answering the questions you just asked. It has a fairly long list of upgrades that many G owners have already performed. Do some digging in here and you'll find lots of upgrade ideas.

Welcome to NICO!

NA G35's are expensive once you've done all the normal power adders (intake, exhaust). The engines are really tuned well from the factory so squeezing more HP is tough. FI is the only real option for big power (400 rwhp is the max for safe drivetrain durability)

Check out our G-series FAQ (link in my sig) for more info.

One last thing I'd like to add. There is a VQ40 with the same bore spacing... so if you really want maximum NA power, you should up the displacement. AEBS also makes a 4.2L stroker kit, but I'm sure it's bigger bucks than a turbo kit.

Maximum anything is going to be relative to cost...

so, a better question is "what is the max HP NA for $2000"

or something where we can quantify what you will add on

Or max N/A without major internal upgrading.

To be honest. You picked the wrong car if you want cheap upgrades. Most noticable upgrades are going to be a few hundred or more. Internal upgrades are down right expensive. I'm sure you have seen the price of boost. Several Thousand.

Chips aren't worth it. Our cars are already tuned pretty well from the factory. Chips work best on de-tuned American cars or factory cars with turbos.

Don't take my post as being negative. I'm just being honest.
