maxima window issues!

So I was driving down the road and i noticed that I was hearing a loud amount of road noise, I look over to my passenger side and the window is like 3 inches down. I figured I must have hit the down button by accident so as I push down the switch to roll it up, i hear pop, pop, pop from the passenger door then... nothing. The motor makes no noise and you can push/pull the window up and down. Did my motor go out or is it something different?

either something came unplugged or the motor took a dump. Possibly the window is off of track

Thanks I figured as much. but if the window just came off the track, wouldnt I still hear the motor engaging?

Symptoms point to a failed Window Regulator (WR). Check availability of power and verify WR is bad before replacing. Please refer to the link below (94 Maxima FSM but also applies to 91 Maxima page BF-11 for Rear Door components and BF-18&19 for Schematic Diagram.

Possibly, but not necessarily. I lost my rear passenger window on my '93 with similar symptoms. At first, I could hear the motor running. Later, it stopped operating altogether. When I tore the door apart to inspect, I found the cable off the track.
