My boss has a 90 Maxima in the back he's ready to part out and I was thinking of taking the speakers for my 240. I know the rears in the Maxima are 6x9s. I'm not sure of the size of the fronts in either car. Wiring is not an issue, it's the fitment I was worried about.

I know with the rear I'm gonna have to modify the speaker housing some how to fit the 6x9s cause the 240 (Cant remember the exact size) rears are no where near 6x9.

I was just curious if anyone every did this kinda swap and what kinda walls I'm gonna run into.

check that out.. its the 240 wiring and speaker sizes.

and theres the maxima.

the12volt.com.. its a great resource for car audio. looks like your door speakers will match up. supposing the plate is the same size (should be) and wiring shouldnt be too bad. the rears might pose a problem. im not too sure of what the rear deck in a 90 240 looks like. but right now you have round rear speakers.. and your trying to put in ovals. not impossible at all. but might prove to be difficult.

if you got a picture of your rear deck (bare metal) then i could help alot more.

The 240 speakers are oval and so are the maxima, I know I looked at em today lol. The maxima speakers are monsterous in comparison to the 240. My only problem would be fitting them in the small area, I'm not even sure what everything looks like under the plastic. I would tare it apart, but I don't even have the money for the speakers right now, so no sense taking it apart yet.

Most likely, I see me taking multiple pliers, channel locks, hacksaw, drill, spare pieces of metal laying around my shop and randoms nuts/bolts/screw and piecing it all together, will be fun.

Yep. That's probably your best bet.
