I'm not quite clear on whether you're wanting to put a VQ in your tC or a 2AZ in your Max...

Either way...it's going to require a lot of money, time, effort, and some specialized equipment. With modern cars, really any engine but the factory engine is going to be equally hard to swap in.

If you're talking 2AZ into the Max...WHY? The 2AZ is an econocar engine. It's not even a noteworthy motor in it's own 4 cylinder arena...there are plenty of better 4-bangers out there if you really want to downgrade. The VQ30 is 100 times the motor the 2AZ is in every way.

If you're talking VQ into the tC...the first big hurdle is whether the VQ (which is tall and wide, being a DOHC V6) will even fit in the tC engine bay. The tC has a pretty long hood for such a small FWD car, so I suspect it will...but I have no idea really.

Yeah i was talking about VQ into the tC.

A TC engine in a MAXIMA?!? dats quite insulting lol i would NEVER in a million years EVER consider that thought! but yeah my pops wants to hook me up with a tC but i already know its a slow car and i already own a 95' maxima GLE and figured if he got me the tC maybe i could swap the engines??

just get a trd supercharger for a tc, which puts it roughly in horsepower #'s vs. a vq-with a warranty. but if you wanna be unique and have the time, patience, and money, go for it.

After looking at power/weight comparisons, it looks to be a complete waste of money. If you really want to get crazy, put a VQ35 in. THAT would make a world of difference.

And that's a really good point. If you're going to bother with it, you might as well go all-out.

Get a VQ35 and a 6 speed manual to go with it.
