I have 1997 Maxima GLE.The right hand side mirror is broken.I called the dealer and they are quoting Parts ($205) and Labor ($120).

I checked the same part on Ebay for $52 ($36 part and $16 shipping)

My question is can I get this part from ebay and Fix it myself?

How easy to fix?

Appreciate you help on this.

thanks

A few screws and a plug, if you can do spark plugs you can do this. Have faith in yourself and you can accomplish amazing tasks.

If you need OEM parts be sure to check out our sponsors, they give great deals to NICO members. Check Pinnacle, Everything Nissan, Midway...they are all listed in a sticky at the top of the Max/I forum.

Hope this helps:You'll need to get 3M acrylic foam tape to re-attach the mirror. When wiggling the screwdriver back and forth to remove the mirror, be gentle as to not crack the mirror.

beancooker, I don't where I can just a mirror.

All,

The quote I mentioned for the entire side mirror casing that was attached to the door. ( http://www.automotivemirrors.c...r=3.0 )

I tried to remove the mirror but the bolts that attached to the door is not easily exposed. It is covered by some plastic casing inside the door. That casing is attached to screw. Looks like it is not easy to remove.

Appreciate your help.

thanks

You'll need to remove the inner door panel. That should expose a bolt on the bottom of the trim plate that covers the inner mounting hardware for the mirror. Remove that bolt, pull the trim plate out, and you're set.

I can open 2 push clips on the upper side of the interior panel and looked inside. The lower part of the interior panel has a some kind of threaded screw. I don't know where the head of that screw is.
