I'm upgrading my 71 triumph tr6 to rear disc brakes. i have custom made brackets that will attach to the 1987 maxima brake caliper mounting bracket. Unfortunately mid 1987 nissan changed the calipers design slightly. there is raised ridge on the mounting surface that is thicker and doesn't allow the two brackets to bolt up. So my question is is anyone aware of this? Are earlier model maximas brakes different than post 1987 models? Are there any calipers that are interchangeable with the 87 maxima calipers? Thanks.

Have you looked at some of the refurbished calipers from a place like RockAuto? Might be worth ordering a pair, just to see if they lack the ridge. Otherwise, you're in for a trip to a junkyard.

Yeah looking at the 86 maxima calipers look like an option. To be honest these are getting rare. in particular the rear driver side. Rock auto has none in stock right now nether does autozone it seems. at least the s13 rotors fit. nothing local in the junkyards. to old. oh well guess ill keep looking. Thanks AZ.
