Maxima owner here looking into a nasty G35 coupe to upgrade to by the summer.

Alright... So I love my Max but she is getting a bit high on mileage and it may need a clutch soon(factory). It has 160k miles on it and I never had any issues with it besides the AC clutch. Anyway.. Long story short. I don't want to put a grand into a clutch and I want something newer and I want ppl to double take besides just grilling once like they do now.

Some things about my max... lets see... it is mint, black on black and 5 speed. I am really looking into getting a new faster sleek car and have more luxury then what I have now(I love the G35 seats). Either by this summer or the end of next year. I had 3 cars in line I been looking at. A gen 5.5 max. A WRX and the G35.

I think I am determined on getting a G35 because they are pretty close to the prices of a WRX of the year I want. Plus the best thing about a G35 is... IT is hotter, It can keep up with a WRX and better on gas cause u don't have a turbo boosting all the time and has luxary that is complelty demished in a WRX. I am a sport couple/sedan guy! lol

Now...I would love to have AWD turbo but... Just does not seem logical when I can stay with Nissan witch is more reliable and they have way better cars for around the same price.

Now this is what I want in my G35 and I wanted to come here to learn more about what options are avalible for these eye-gasmic cars

1.G35 coupe.

2.2003 I would perfer because an 03 will be cheapest, I would like to stay with the 03-04 because of the brembo brakes as well and the wheel package...

3.Black on Black or White on black 6 speed only.

4.And I must have projectors. I know that the 06 6 speeds have projectors but do any of the others do too? Now If I rip the HIDS out of my car and get the right adapter I can throw them into a G35 so I can save money on having to buy a whole new HID system.

5.spoiler and sunroof(I am 99% certian that they all have sunroofs)

So is that a possible somewhat easy find for what I am looking for? I just love the looks of the coupe and I was shocked to see the prices so close to a WRX and that is what made me really think about getting more over a WRX. Along with it being the sex of course... lol...

Just to think the amount of babes I can get in this thing vs. a WRX... haha

Good to see you thinking about to get a G.

Here is the deal.

03 G is a first year with some minor problems. I just want you to be aware so it won't shock you.

Brembo yes it is nice to have but as I said they have more problems and less horses. 05 and up would be your best buy.

I think sunroof is optional but almost all have it. I think I never seen one without it.

Headlight you can put an 06 headlight in the older versions.

You can get lots of aftermarket spoilers bodyparts turbo and so on.

damn... umm what kind of problems are we talking about? I mean I know cars for the first year are gonna have issues but are they big issues? or are they FSbs that been fixed or probably fixed by the person that owned it?

No big isues, audio head unit, brake dust and wear and some windows motor. I think these are the ones.

The base models with cloth seats come without a sunroof. I think you can assume that if you have leather you have the sunroof.

I bought my 2003 creampuff in May with 8k miles - I'm now around 18k with no problems yet. I don't really consider the brake dust to be a problem so much as a minor nuisance. I have a set of Hawk pads ready to be installed when I get to the point of replacing the original pads. They are supposed to cut down on the dust.

Just take your time and do your homework in general and in particular on any car you are considering.

besides that window motor that is not big to me at all... Wen I hear ppl say issue, I get worried like it is transmission issues or something engine related... lol
