my 95 was recently hit, damaging the bumper, taillight, and causing a minor buckle in the quarter panel.

im waiting until may to fix the car. repainting the entire car, i dont want a section of the car freshly painted while the rest is 11 years old.

just have to wait until the snow is gone. [cant imagine driving on a salted/sanded road with brand new paint]

so, the question is- does anyone know the original paint manufacturer for a 1995 pebble beige metalllic max?

any preferred paint brand? [auto body is definately not my area of expertise]

I believe you should be able to pick up the paint at any Nissan dealership/body shop. Just ask for paint code CG2.

its getting painted at a body shop, i wasnt sure if there would be a paint quality difference between what a body shop would mix up vs. paint from the original paint company.

then again, i was thinking that any auto paint from 2006 would be equal or better than 1995 auto paint. would that be accurate?

even though its minor, i hate looking at the car that way.

Here's a pretty cool site for you. I've heard that SW carries good automotive paints.http://www.sherwin-automotive.com/formula/

These results are all different formula types of your color. Unfortunately, I have no idea what they mean. I would recommend either talking to the body you plan on doing the work, or stopping by a one of these locations I found by searching for stores by your city and state.

well, thank you very much.

i figured the dealer would have the paint, but even with my discount [shop] it would probably still be way more expensive than direct from the manufacturer.

i know the paint code, i was more interested in the original paint supplier to nissan.

my goal with the car was to keep it perfectly stock. down to nissan air/oil/fuel filters.

the car is 100% oem except for the sony stereo and four polk speakers. [the rear bumper is aftermarket, but temporary]

im looking at a paint job, because the car has scratches on the trunk, doors, ect. [none down to metal]. usual wear for an almost 12 year old car.

a few months ago, the car had its first ever accident. i was rear ended, damaging the bumper, tail light, and pushing the quarter panel out, with a slight buckle.

i know some auto body people, so the car was fixed in two days.

i didnt have time to wait for the dealer to get the bumper in, so i had them get an aftermarket. im getting an oem bumper before the full paint.

did you actually click my link or just start opening your mouth? open the pdf file and go to page 3.

[edit: correction, manufacturer is on page 2, clear coat manufacturer/refinisher on page 3]

its for approved refinishing materials.

nowhere in the document is the original supplier referenced.

since you're obviously retarded and don't want to read the PDF:

AKZO-Sikkens (404) 441-8975Du Pont (800) 222-5225Spies Hecker (800) 447-7437American Standox (800) 551-9296PPG (216) 572-6111BASF (800) 825-5000

Most of these ARE refinishing AND paint manufacturers. I'm sure Nissan wasn't forced into using 1 supplier for global production.

OK, I've had enough of this pissing and whining.

IvoryJ30t wants to know the OEM paint manufacturer; 0wn3r has provided post production paint manufacturers with codes.

IvoryJ30t: If you want true OEM paint, go to a Nissan dealer like I said in post #2.
