Hi.

I'm new here. I joined to learn more about Maxima's.

I am starting to look for a new car (pre owned) and Maxima's are on my very short list.

I currently drive an 04 BMW 325i.

I love it.

It's just expensive. And ridiculously expensive to fix.

I will look into another BMW also and this time I will know more about what I am looking for and be able to spot good deals.

That's why i joined this forum, to learn more about Maxima's and how to tell the difference between a shiny car and a great car.

So I'll start out simple.

Figure I'll have 12g's to spend. What should I be looking for? a $12ooo car a 10k car and 2g's to put into aftermarket parts and accessories? What are some common problems I should be looking out for?

Thanks.

Nice meeting you all. D

for 10K you could probably pick up a nice 02-03 Maxima with the 3.5L VQ35 engine and a 6 speed manual(if you like manual)

then use the extra for suspension and brake upgrades.

i like my maxima for the comfort and performance. I'm 6'4" tall, and need the extra head and leg room. the 5th and 5.5 gen(00-03) maxima's have the most head and leg room in their class. They are SOOOO much roomier than a 325i...go out and take one for a test drive just for fun...you will fall in love

4th gens (95-99) are nice but why get something old like that if you can get a newer max with your budget?
