Well be carefull that you do not melt your wiring harness. A lot of people have after installing aftermarket bulbs. But I bought the lights that were at bestbuy for my 2000max and they were really nice. Piaa is just too expensive, yet it was the only ones i could get to closely match my hids for the fogs.

I went with the silver stars due to their availability and price. They are just a tad less bright than the PIAA hyperwhites I bought from Mark. Still much better than stock though.

I've got silverstars and they're fine. Of course, my nasty faded lenses hide the nice lamps, but that's ok.

I'd say the Silverstars.

You can take care of those lenses with about 20 minutes of elbow grease and some plastic polish. I got some at the automotive store and with a little work they look like new. It was pretty amazing.

yes, that elbow grease paid off for sure.

good choice on the bulbs btw

that is a solid, consistently used bulb that can be counted on to work, not fry harnesses, etc.

yeah i just picked up some PIAA h4 bulbs for my fogs in the G. they are way to blue when you look at them straight on but nice on the road. should have just gone with hyperwhites or Silverstars as well for 1/4 of the cost.

Silver Stars...I just bought mine a week ago at walmart for $24 for a pair. I've had PIAA's before and Silver Stars come very close to its brightness.

I had the PIAA Xtremes and loved them. Bright as hell, gave that "HID look"(kinda),and they matched my lighting scheme ,but for $75 Ill be damned if I buy em again.

My silverstars have been fine in my maxima. So far just over a year and they still look like they are brand new. So far not one has burnt out.

I second the plastic polishing on the headlights. After reading this thread yesterday I went out in search of polish - Nissan even issued a TSB on the headlights getting scratched and recommended 3M Plastic Polish.

I wasn't able to find true plastic polish but a guy at autozone recommeded just trying the basic turtle wax polishing compound - in the tubs for ~$2. Worked great - I stuck a wet terry cloth rag on my orbiting sander (for woodwork), smeared some polish on the headlight and away I went. At LEAST 75% brighter than when all scuffed up.

Great idea. I'll steal my dad's orbital sander and give that a try.

On the subject, had anyone tried that Flitz stuff? They use it on headlights on the infomercial and it seems to do a good job...but it is an infomercial, so you never know. I'm pretty sure I've seen it at autozone before.
