I just got a 92 Maxima with the bose system. I would like to put my Clarion head unit in and take the bose out. I was told there could be some problems with this. Has anyone ever done this, what do I need and how dificult was the install. Thanks in advance.

Mounting - no probWiring - you need an aftermarket to bose adaptor.

What kind of condition are the speakers in the car in?

I cranked the stereo up and they sounded great. I'd leave it alone but its a tape deck and I need my clarion mp3 player. I went to my local car stereo place and they told me just to hook it up and don't power up the amps for the speakers. Does this sound right?

You have to get an OEM integration interface so that the output from your clarion unit will be compatible with your bose equipment. There is no safe way to use your bose speakers with your clarion unit without one of these devices. You will need the following stuff for a great install. I recommend Metra and Soundgate products, but you can use other brands.

OEM Integration Interface--- Soundgate model #OEM4A *note: Call a good shop for this product. If they do not have it... ask for a substitute product. (fyi...these adaptors are not that cheap)

All of the model numbers below are from Metra. (brand name) You can find this stuff at Circuit City.

Dash Kit - Metra # 99-7401 OR 99-7407

Antenna Adaptor - Metra # 40-NI10

Wiring Harness - Metra # 70-1763 *note: you will attach the OEM integration adaptor to the speaker wires on this harness and then to the clarion unit.

If you use this stuff you will have a perfectly integrated system. Hope this helps out. Let me know how it goes. :)

By the way... Peripheral makes an OEM interface/harness that combines the harness and the interface.

Peripheral model # NISAH4
