Maxima A/C

My '94 Maxima a/c compressor runs only if I unplug the high pressure switch and put a jumper in the plug. Does this indicate a bad switch? Will I need to vacuum the system if I replace only the switch? What is the correct pressure for the system?

You will have to replace the expansion valve on the evaporator. I am not sure of the details but I had the same problem on my 89 and that fix it. It is not that bad of a job, the glove box has to come out and the a/c lines under the hood will have to be unhooked.
