Spacer will not give you any benefit. It probably wouldnt even register on a dyno.

I dont know about TB spacers but what about

http://www.nissanworks.com/Phenolic_Spacers.html

they help lower the temp and supposedly gain 10hp and 12ft lb of torque.

The jury is still out on those. Notice the gains are from 3900-5100rpm, basically, and pretty minimal to non-existent elsewhere, plus they were done on a stock engine.

Could be worthwhile, but further evaluation is needed. For lightly modded vehicles they may be worth the trouble, but for more heavily modified vehicles I would have lots more questions to ask at this point-- especially those of you with cams/ECUs who are breathing considerably better above 5000rpm.

IMO it has to be one of the better mods for the price. You want those gains down low unless you have alot of mods to benefit from the breathing up high. Look at the kinetix intake at what $800 at GB price. This has several advantages in that you"ll never have to change gaskets again, lower temperature and a nice increase in horespower and torque. Where as with a fujita cold air(still buying one) a member did a dyno and got 10hp and lost 1 ft lb of torque. What ? would you have ? Its been said it doesnt effect A/F ratio so you dont have to adjust. Not trying to argue just debate a little on its benefit from what I read. I think its going to one of my next mods.

a friend of mine used the outlaw engineering phenolic spacers (among a few other mods) and it made a tremendous difference. this is in an 04 spec, but still. i think, for the price, you cant go wrong.

I hate to bump an older thread, but I wanted to keep this thread on topic instead of starting a new one.

I just wanted to let everyone know that we now have Thermal Intake Spacer Kits for the 95-99 Maxima VQ30DE.

Too expensive for just a minor increase all by itself. Exhaust mod can do better for same amount.Would be reasonable with a lower price.

i beg to differ.. their whole theory on how the gains are produced are totally off.. the true reason for the gains is due to the increase in volume of the plenum.. i mean come on now what direction is the air flowing? oh yeah and if you guys have forgot.. the egr supplies heat also.. and and where is the thermal spacer for this? not to harp on the mod.. but a 1/8 inch thick spacer isnt going to do a thing.. just my .02
