good question crap how do I figure that out, I didn’t deal with putting them on, might have to wait to contact my buddy who didelwesso wrote:whats your offset?
It is usuallly cast on the insde of the wheel. Take it off, or observe it on a lift. Might measure it also as some posted here seem to be incorrect.96Q45taz wrote: good question crap how do I figure that out, I didn’t deal with putting them on, might have to wait to contact my buddy who did
Let's see those tires, Greg!AZhitman wrote:275/40/18 fit nicely in the rear, even lowered, with a tiny bit of fender rolling.
Is there a reason you want to run such huge tires front and rear? If you don't have any major hp mods, you will prob barely have enough power to adequately put those tires to full use... and the car will actually feel more sluggish driving around96Q45taz wrote:so for now I'm looking to get 255/40/19 for the front... I'm not sure if it’s going to rub or not, I'm going to talk to the local tire shop. For the rears I'm set on 275/40/19 but I don’t know if those will fit, I'm worried about the rear more then the front because I really want to fill in the gap, I’m going for the european look where the tires are some what tucked and it looks clean . need some input please thanks. PS I have a 2 inch Cali custom drop and 235/35/19 tires on now and they have never rubbed. THANKS!
damn that sucks, i was trying to get some 255/40/19s for the front but i might want to re think that hmm, what year is your Q, how bad on the back did it rub i want 275/40/19, what did the tire shop say the biggest you can fit is?Tobester wrote:i just picked up a set of tires that came off a 7 seriers bimmer. i currently have 245/35/19. i bought 245/40/19 and 275/45/19 105 Y. BOTH front and back couldnt fit. I couldnt believe i just spend $100 for the stupid test fit. my rims are 19X9.5. the tires fit good on the rim but were rubbing on the front pretty bad and on the rears too. any ideas from any one thx
yeah i hear you thats the same reason for me too! i ended up lowering my car 2 inches but still need bigger tires like i said, whats the biggest you think we can get away with?Tobester wrote:hahha im the same i wish i got 20 inch rims.. but only other way aroudn it is to lower the car but thats not something i would do. only because i drive my car in the winter. the car is a 92 standard Q
the fronts were really bad rubbing the suspension but back wasnt as bad but i was highly advised not to run the rears just because if i do carry a load in the truck or hit the slightest bump iwas told i could get rubbing and destroy the car. i really want to get wider tire and somthing with a lil more sidewall cause the 245/35/19 im running right now are great but need more cushion for these damn potholes. btw im running an ofset of 20, they are flush with the fenders now. What kind of mods can we do to run wider tires? anyone know
OTG is right, the bigger tires make the car a little sluggish. I have a HARD time getting the rears to even break loose.one ton garage wrote:If you don't have any major hp mods, you will prob barely have enough power to adequately put those tires to full use... and the car will actually feel more sluggish driving around
